Not every job is a rewire. Sometimes it's a dead socket, a new shower spur, an outside light you want fitted before the in-laws arrive at the weekend. We treat small works exactly the same as big ones, surveyed, quoted, fitted, certificated.
Most of the small-works jobs we do, adding a garden socket, replacing a failed shower, fitting an outside sensor light, take under half a day. What they don't take is shortcuts. The same RCD protection, cable routing and certification approach applies to one-socket-in-the-kitchen as to a full rewire. The only difference is the scale.
We turn up on the day we said, we bring shoe covers if it's a domestic property, we dust-sheet the area before we start, and we test and certificate the work before we leave. A Minor Electrical Installation Works Certificate is issued for single-circuit additions; an Electrical Installation Certificate for anything more substantial. You keep both in your house file.
If you're not sure whether your job is a small works item or a bigger project, a quick phone call usually sorts it. Adding an outdoor socket is one thing.
