Zappi, Ohme, Tesla Wall Connector and Andersen, OZEV-approved, smart-tariff ready, solar-diversion enabled.
Whether you're pairing an EV charger with an existing solar system or installing the charger first, we fit it properly: correct earth arrangement for your supply type, Type A RCD, load management if your supply can't take an unrestricted 7kW, and smart tariff commissioning on the day.
Installed on its own, an EV charger is just another appliance. Installed alongside solar and a battery, it becomes the biggest load in the house, and the one where tariff optimisation pays back fastest. A full renewables stack means your car charges from solar surplus in summer, from cheap off-peak grid in winter, and almost never from peak-rate grid at all.
Solar diversion is the trick that makes this work in summer. Your inverter monitors the house consumption; whatever you'd otherwise export to the grid at a low export tariff, the charger soaks up instead, adding free kilometres to the car. Zappi is the canonical solar-diversion charger; recent Ohme and Andersen units do it too.
In winter, solar diversion does nothing, there's no surplus to divert. That's where tariff-native chargers earn their place. Ohme paired with Octopus Intelligent will charge your car in the cheapest half-hour slots automatically, whether those slots fall at 2am, 4am or 11pm. You set the target state of charge and the departure time; the charger and tariff negotiate the rest.
We match the charger to your car, tariff and solar, not just to your driveway.
