Full & Part Rewires

Dated installations brought up to the current wiring regulations, tidily, on schedule, and properly certificated.

What we do

Whether you've bought a period property that still has rubber cable behind the plaster, or you're extending your home and the existing consumer unit just isn't up to it, we handle rewires from initial survey through to Building Control sign-off. We lift what needs to be lifted, make good what we lift, and leave the site cleaner than we found it.

  • Full property rewires, from single-bedroom flats to four-storey townhouses.
  • Part rewires targeted at a specific floor, extension or circuit upgrade.
  • New consumer units with modern RCBO protection on every circuit.
  • Supply upgrades and meter-tail swaps coordinated with the DNO.
  • Cable routes planned to minimise chasing on plastered walls.
  • Full Part P notification to Building Control handled by us.

What a proper rewire actually involves

The bit of a rewire clients can see is the finish: new white plastic accessories, a tidy consumer unit, no exposed cable tails. The bit that matters more, but no one sees, is what's inside the walls. We run new twin-and-earth circuits on clean, direct routes, drilled through joists on their neutral axis, stapled at the correct spacing, protected from screws with steel plate where the cable sits within the 50mm safe zone. Every joint is made inside a fitted accessory box, not buried in plaster.

Before we lift anything, we walk every room with you and mark up circuits: which sockets go on which ring, where you want extra doubles, whether kitchen worktops need extra twin-sockets, whether the lighting should be split by room or by function. That conversation gets you the house you actually want to live in, not the house the previous owner settled for.

Building Control sign-off is part of the package. We notify under Part P, file the test results with the final Electrical Installation Certificate, and you receive a folder with the whole paper trail: test schedule, circuit chart, and the NICEIC completion certificate that conveyances and insurers ask for.
