Solar PV

Bespoke roof-mounted solar systems using tier-1 panels, including flush in-roof integration for period or high-spec builds.

What we do

Every solar PV install begins with a physical roof survey, not a satellite-image estimate. We size the array to your actual consumption, pick panels and inverters that match your aesthetic (in-roof integration for a flush finish, black-on-black panels where the roof is visible), and commission the whole system through to DNO notification and MCS certification.

  • Tier-1 all-black panel options, LG, JA Solar, Trina, Jinko.
  • In-roof integrated mounts for flush finish on heritage or high-spec builds.
  • String and hybrid inverters sized for your current and future load.
  • DC isolation, AC isolation, and proper earthing throughout.
  • MCS-ready paperwork for export tariff eligibility.
  • DNO notification (G98/G99) handled on your behalf.

Sizing, orientation, and the honest conversation about payback

A solar survey worth doing looks at four things: your annual kWh consumption (we ask for 12 months of bills), your roof pitch and orientation, shading throughout the day from neighbouring trees and chimneys, and the structural state of the roof itself. From those inputs we model annual generation, self-consumption fraction and payback, and if the numbers don't stack up, we tell you.

South-facing roofs with a pitch between 25° and 40° are the sweet spot. But east-west split arrays on a gable roof can actually suit a household that's out during the middle of the day and home morning and evening, they flatten the generation curve and match your consumption better. The 'south is always best' rule is a simplification that often costs clients the better system.

On hardware: tier-1 panels are non-negotiable. We favour glass-on-glass bifacial panels on flat and ground-mount installs, and all-black mono PERC for visible roofs where aesthetics matter. Hybrid inverters are worth the extra spend because they let you add battery storage later without ripping out the inverter. Single-string inverters are cheaper and fine where shading is minimal; power optimisers earn their keep where shading is unavoidable.
