Battery storage is the piece that turns a mediocre solar system into a great one. Store surplus daytime generation, discharge through the evening, and on the right tariff, charge from the grid at off-peak rates for use at peak. We design the whole stack so it actually does what you hoped it would.
Battery sizing gets pitched at customers as 'match your solar' or 'match your evening consumption', and both miss the point. The right way is to look at your half-hourly data, which smart meters now provide, and size for the worst week of winter, when generation is near zero and you're relying on time-of-use tariffs to charge overnight and discharge through the peak.
For most UK households that lands on 10–15 kWh of usable capacity. More is wasted capital; less means you're importing at peak rates on the worst days. We'd rather specify 13.5 kWh and get it right than sell you 27 kWh and call it 'future-proofing' for a future that never arrives.
On hardware: Tesla Powerwall 3 integrates inverter and battery in one unit with a 13.5 kWh core, clean, well-designed, firmware mature. GivEnergy's All-in-One series is a strong UK alternative with good local support and stackable expansion. Fox ESS appeals where the customer wants a three-phase solution. We fit all three. Backup capability during power cuts is available on Powerwall 3 and some GivEnergy configurations, if that matters to you, say so up front because it changes the install.
